The walls are going up, the lawful corporate web is collapsing in on itself.
I just realized that twitter barrier--apparently you need to be logged in now--also prevents people from seeing the emergency things like weather, earthquake, transit issues...
Those services have to leave there. They should have before anyway, but now it's not a public venue at all.
Ok, false alert, sorry! After double checking actually most t.co links are working and also the #twitter archive contains a field "expanded_url" with the full URL! So the situation is much better than I initially thought. Thanks for double checking and making me aware @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] et al. It is still a big risk, that twitter has the power to wall in those #links #gatedcommunities #fediverse #web
Ad blockers are also cybersecurity. Say it with me.
