#Medievalist #AssociateDean (L&T). The rare academic animal who enjoys meetings. I will one day go #sailing again. I hobby-play #guitar.
‘Yeah. Fine. Whatever.’ is definitely shaping up to be my motto for #2024 so far…
It’s been one of those topsy-turvy days: Best-laid plans and then reality interferes. Good and kind of fun snippets, but the urgent long-standing stuff still needs doing. Another day tomorrow, and I’m fine with that, but…. Ahhhrrrgh!

In other news:

I have made the move from an iPhone SE(2) to a 15 ProMax. Wow, it is a HUGE machine, but so far I am not regretting a thing.

The screen is awesome, battery life is truly all-day (so far), and I’m glad I took the opportunity to also join the QuadLock ecosystem.

I have been struggling with a specific work task for weeks. It’s one that I enjoy, but a multi-faceted one that is not easy to find a way into.

Today, finally, I seem to have started to my some cracks in the shell appear. With some welcome assistance from Pomodoro timers.

Might actually get this done after all. And only a week late!

Highlight from an evening spent with friends and their dogs: ‘You can’t win with a narcissist!’ (Said in response to a story from me.)
Pitterpatter rain outside
Shattered pain inside.
Hitherthither pulls of thoughts
Mattered once too much.
I’m having the kind of weekend that only comes around every once in a while. In a good way. Some light student-centred admin work, collie-sitting, and I moved my little Greenmantle to a new berth in the marina without a glitch. I’m ready for whatever next week throws at me.
Update on my day:
A strange figure on Michigan Ave
The big shiny bean
🔥 🐶 Lunchtime fuel
Now then… This is even more like it. There will be some #Chicago wanderings today and a bit more re-jigging of my #kzoo2023 paper.

Preparing for #kzoo2023 with a few days in #Chicago.

First-morning sunrise-view was misty but it still strikes beautiful chimes from the 31st floor looking east over Lake Michigan (distantly-towards Kalamazoo).
