Trying to watch The Green Knight but like other A24 productions it mistakes tediously long shots for directorial vision and gravitas. Maybe if I play it at 1.5 speed it will have better pacing. Also, Gawain is kind of stupid.
Barbie is a weird little movie that dares to question the patriarchy. True it's kind of a toothless and tepid condemnation, but still. It's perfectly on point in any case that the two women most responsible for its success get shut out by the Oscar nominations. Way to prove the point, Hollywood.
