I much prefer not to write separate rules for representatives. It's much better, IMO, if we're all under the same rules so that they have similar incentives as the rest of the public.
It promotes the idea of citizens serving a stint in government instead of this separate, elite group.
Gregory Hays@lawfare The slippery slope arguments here seem pretty silly. So what if Republicans release Democratic Ways & Means members' tax returns? That would be good! Every member of Congress should be audited every year, just like the president, and their tax returns should be public. Ditto cabinet secretaries and Supreme Court justices.
