Writing things down isn't just good science; it's the ultimate kink. 😝
If you’re the one who gets fired for making Alexa+ too honest: I’m sorry. You did the right thing.

Woah this actually works, huge change I've been wanting for years. Too bad I ended up purchasing enough Comet KVMs for all my remote minis.

Hey Apple while you are listening can you also enable Lights Out Management without a bunch of crazy MDM stuff?

PSA: Your friendly neighborhood developer likely worked hard this summer to bring their app to Tahoe. Unfortunately, the macOS App Store is buggy af and often fails to show available updates. Check for updates using the mas cli-tool.

Case in point: I had no idea @Iconfactory’s fantastic Wallaroo redesign had been out for five whole days—until I checked with the CLI today.

OK so, long story, but in a previous life I worked on E911 software. Due to the nature of the work, they did standard background checks on all new hires, including programmers. I got access to those as an interviewer, and it was truly shocking to me how many people came through with felonies... and most of those felonies – the vast majority – were domestic violence. Keep that in mind as you read this. https://c.im/@cdarwin/115175514527647092

Trump complained that domestic violence was being counted in the crime statistics, which he claimed meant that the influence of his policy was not being seen as significant enough. “They said, ‘Crime’s down 87%,’” the president claimed, not explaining who “they” were. “I said, no, no, no. It’s more than 87%, virtually nothing. And much lesser things, things that take place in the home they call crime. You know, they’ll do anything they can to find something. If a man has a little fight with the wife, they say this was a crime. See? So now I can’t claim 100%, but we are. We are a safe city.” If Trump wanted to endorse domestic violence decriminalization, he may take some comfort in the status quo: as it is, about 24% of adult American women have been the victims of “severe physical violence” by an intimate partner, according to the National Domestic Violence Hotline The Centers for Disease Control, meanwhile, puts the proportion of women who have experienced “contact sexual violence, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner” at 41%. and many of those incidents are not reported or not prosecuted – meaning that the perpetrators are free, and that their assaults have not been treated as fully “criminal”. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/sep/09/trump-domestic-violence?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

When you try to create user interfaces where you don't have distinct and hard separations for compartmentalization, you end up with weird stuff like this. Notice how the horizontal scroll bar is above the Now Playing controls.

Don't try to be too clever where you UI just starts to fall apart.
