Apparently I sew now
🇨🇦

Also me: @gordoooo_z

Daughter just came home to tell me the teachers at school tried to confiscate her vape but they couldn't because it's actually a kazoo.

"I made a kazoo noise at them and I could see them dying on the inside so I made a sad kazoo noise instead. I don't think it helped."

The grin on her face.

I've been had. This is my second Club "with real bits" and I've yet to experience a single real bit. Wtf, #ireland?

Anyway, it kinda tastes like a halfway point between orange Fanta and orange Crush. Half decent. Not nearly as good as Rani Float, though, which features real bits in abundance.
Apparently not having anything resembling a sleep schedule does not make you immune to jet lag. I've been in and out of sleep for like a day and a half. Thank Bob for Adderall.
I know a few people on here as well as myself will FEEL this cartoon.
I can't remember the last time less than $25 after tax (Cdn$, fyi) delivered so completely. Hey Noodles is my new favourite place in this entire suburban hellscape (terms of endearment).

Imagine how good this would look if it weren't being photographed on a phone from 2018 under the bluest possible 6000k recessed lighting.
Collection Agencies are my favourite because I don't respect them. That doesn't mean I'm rude to their employees of course, but I am very to the point and dismissive of their "debt-reduction offers."

You really expect me to believe that you bought delinquint debt for more than the principle? I know you're low on scruples, but you're not stupid. How's 60% of the principle sound to you? Oh okay, talk to you next week then. Have a nice day.
I've written some version of this exact post at least twice before, haven't I? Highly likely lol
I like the Steelcase Think in theory. It's kind of an elegant design in some ways. But having owned one for something like 2 years, I want to set this thing on fire and send it back to hell where it came from.

Maybe it's just me, and I definitely did a number on myself spending the first 20 years of my life in a lounging position (mom dukes was always right. Sit up straight! And if you keep pulling that loose thread out of your favourite comforter, it *will* turn into a bag of floof one day in the wash), but wtf, my shoulders get stiff within about 20 minutes in this thing. I feel like the ergonomics of the very same desk I've had since I was like 20 have changed entirely.

Anyway, chair shopping really needs to happen soon.
For the curious, or the vintage sewing machine aficionados (some of whom might scoff at this particular model, but I know others are fond of them), it's a Singer Golden Touch and Sew 620. I'm quite taken with the thing, but then I'm easily taken with anything once I take it apart and nurse it back to running order (it was probably already there, it just needed to be cleaned oiled and lubed after decades of disuse).
Alright, went to Fabricland in the morning and got some iron on interface material, and then proceeded to completely fail at threading my machine and winding a bobbin. Guess the first time was beginners luck (or a full night of sleep, lol). Got frustrated and came back an hour or two later to try again and things went far better. Definitely just had something out of place around the tension discs the first time around.

First draft turned out a little wonky, but not bad at all for a first draft. Was still figuring out the presser foot pressure so one side got kinda splayed out a bit and I ended up with a bit of a rhombus, but I'm not mad at that for a trial run.

This isn't the wallet itself mind you. It's wide as hell on purpose cause it includes multiple sema allowances that come into play over the rest of the pattern. I don't love that the cars are super spaced out and there are only 3 slots, but baby steps. I'll do the math to get a fourth card slot in the same height eventually, and this is going to be a bifold wallet so it'll be 8 slots in the end. At least that's my current plan.

Anyway, not good, but literally my first attempt at sewing anything ever, so I'm pretty pleased with myself.

Obviously I've got to practice straight lines, and figure out the presser foot pressure, but yeah... that's what we call learning, lol.
