It is looking more likely that my current project is going to be wrapping up before the end of the year. I'll probably be on the hunt for more client work soon if anyone is looking for an iOS developer. I've been a full-time iOS contractor for 12 years now, and have experience in Obj-C, Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, ARKit, RealityKit, and have been working on a client visionOS project this year. Please shoot me a DM if you have a project I might be able to help out on!

Arrived in Fort Collins, CO, my home away from home for the next week. And my eventual home, if the Fates have their say.

Like many people, I had my Apple ID locked last night, and it was a big hassle trying to get it unlocked and working again.

One tip - when you go through all the rigmarole to get it going again, one thing that doesn't switch on by default is receiving iMessages or FaceTime calls via your Apple ID. So, like me, you will probably be missing messages until you reenable those in Settings. Also, if you send somebody a new iMessage it will default to your phone number which may not be what you want.

#fedihired hey I'm Adrian, and I'm an Swift Platforms developer. I really need to find a place to work in the wake of a layoff. Timezone is not an issue. I'll do whatever I need to in order to help my family. Please share. I know some folks have seen this a couple times, but I will not throw in a towel.
Sunspots in the first. Nice prominence in the lower-middle in the second. Taken from the top (hah! It’s only like 400 feet) of Perfect North Slopes, Indiana. Fujifilm X-H2S @ 560mm.

Only now, as I get ready to enter The Qitana Ravel, do I put two and two together and realise what “La Hee” is.

So annoying.

🤦‍♂️

While the main story quest of Stormblood dragged on and on (for years, in my case) the post-Stormblood storyline has hit every mark and is making me excited for Shadowbringers.

Playing as Sage has been a fun change of pace, but healing a party stresses me out.

Universal links is really well implemented on iOS. The architecture is well thought out, and trust established well. Apple also considered how to work with developers who’s development domains my not be routable on the Internet.

Which I why when we had trouble with one the other day, I was really scratching my head.

After a bit of digging, I found what was wrong. I figured other developers would run into this problem, so I’ve written up a short post about it.
