@dannystewart Thanks Danny. I could not really have done it without dwtheme.com. It would have been too big a job working out the structure. The biggest challenge was the white noise!

@dannystewart Well Danny, I got there. Here is my final recording of the Doctor Who theme. 100% of it played on brass instruments, even the white noise. Thanks for all your advice and for dwtheme.com!

Doctor Who Theme Performed entirely on Brass Instruments

@dannystewart That's it for today. I have a basic mix of the white noise done. Next stage is to finish the score, print the parts and then record all the instrumental parts.
@dannystewart The four white noise notes of the repeating sequence overlayed with a small amount of reverb:
@dannystewart Complete set of tuned samples including the longer ones for the intro section. Had to tune the instrument with a chromatic tuner as these are live sound recordings. Its coming along slowly.
@dannystewart I have managed to produce tuned white noise by blowing through my piccolo trumpet, with attack, with my lips too far apart to vibrate and make a note. Then reversed that audio in Audacity. Keeping digital effects to a minimum. I can make all of the required notes this way before overlaying.
@dannystewart Corrected those parts and added the drones. Need to work out how I will annotate or render the hiss, but it's getting there.
@dannystewart Thanks, I will have a look at that bit. I also found the accents were critical to making it sound like the original recording, and they weren't all on the first or third beat.

@dannystewart

Progress so far (MIDI instrument rendering). Still have the drones to add. Then the other white noise.

I hear an accent on the note that's just before the bar line in the second bass line. I think its the clutch on a tape machine lurching forward when they took it off pause. They must have duplicated and cut it a bar at a time or it would be on the other note too. #trivia
