this would bypass:

  • having to license 80s/90s hits
  • streamers getting copyright claims

specifically what i'm imagining is the player being able to find/buy/copy cassette tapes in the world; albums, demos, EPs, compilations, whatever

what would be really cool would be finding someone who can play a character in the game who is also a musician within the game, some kinda post-apoc folk singer

how would you feel if you opened up a video game and during the logos it showed the burger king logo with voiceover text that said "this video game was brought to you by burger king. burger king: have it your way" (or whatever their slogan is) and then burger king didn't come up again until the end credits?

no product placement, no actual full-on commercial, no tie-in marketing deal; just the message during the logos and then their logo in the credits. pick as many as you want

I have this kinda stupid idea for cassette future post apoc game where I'd have a lot of musicians record original songs in various 80s/90s styles for the soundtrack to bypass licensing and copyright issues
