I’ve heard of the reclaiming meaning before, but you’re not reclaiming anything when you say that zio- is a legitimate, neutral pejorative for zionism. Zio- is predominantly used by white supremacists as code to refer to Jews. You’re not subverting or reclaiming anything, or shaping the language, because you’re still using it for its intended purpose, which is to refer to Jews. You’re just reinforcing it.

Even more so, it’s so easy to just say “zionist” or not even use the zio- pejorative at all. It’s a single letter, and yet many are unable to change that, because they’re antisemitic, as you can see in the link. Personally, I would never want to reclaim language that originates in white supremacy, because there’s nothing to reclaim, and it gives credence to white supremacists.

I’m sure you also recall when users of mine used the word “degenerate,” and those users made the same arguments as you are now, that the meaning has changed. If we can’t use degenerate, we certainly cannot use the zio- pejorative.

If you think Lemmy, a platform with barely any users, targeting one specific user who everyone knows is a dick, is somehow making a difference to the genocide, then best of luck to you.

But if you want maturity, the reality is that this is meaningless and is doing absolutely nothing. If you legitimately cared about genocide as a whole, you’d be boycotting Lemmy because the developers are genocide denialists, both of the Ughyur genocide and the Holodomor.
