#feditip: go to https://{your mastodon server}/users/{any username}.rss to get an RSS feed for your RSS reader.

Level 2: go about your day without internet, then in the evening settle down at your Computer Desk with a nice cup of tea to RSS-digest the day's shitposts.

Level 3: Aggregates your RSS feeds into epub format. Load the output onto your 2000's e-ink e-reader via USB cable. Sit in an overstuffed armchair with a nearby lamp, say aloud "Ah, yes, today's internet" and sip your port.

When I moved over here one of the biggest scepticisms I heard was that the Fediverse is much more ripe for spam than centralized services. Because mail spam was never really under control. And #mastodon is conceptually like mail. Empirically it's the other way around: with moderate use I got close to zero spam here while the idle account at Twitter was spammed regularly. Turns out that moderators who actually care make all the difference 🙌
New Fediverse user? Here's a helpful flowchart explaining when posts appear in timelines. #Fedivers #Matsodon
@Curator it looks like @nyurakim has trouble moving the account from .social (where now her profile says "Profile unavailable"). Maybe there is an easy fix? Would be a pity to not have her art over here.

Here comes the flood :D. It's Judgement Day! Welcome new Mastodon users 💕 . #mastoart

The last time we had a big user influx (when Melon Husk announced buying birdsite back in April), a lot of our new users experienced an emotional surge on realising that they didn't have to compete with the algorithms any more; no punishment for using or not using hashtags, for including links in posts, for posting too little or too often. A lot of people were deep in creative blocks from the stress of it all.

You're free from that here. There is no pressure to create or post constantly. (cont)
