@Cognessence @alisynthesis 💯 💯 💯 "electronic music unveils some of this by default - you can make sounds from first principles, not out of purism, but because it allows us to work in these interstitial spaces where traditional musical categories break down; and further from that, the boundaries between source material, processing, and final form dissolve into a unified audio field."
@williamfields yeah, and it's odd then that lots of synths have their filter keytracking set to to the inverse by default, opening the filter as you climb higher up the keyboard.
@TROG @Cognessence Thinking of you, RL.
@c_reider @grahamdunning @steveburnett Have you read David Markson? It's definitely different to Vonnegut (obvs) but I think you'd enjoy at least one of his novels. Wittgenstein's Mistress is top, and the other later ones are good and challenging (also comic).
@t36s makes sense. Deity is tiny :)
@c_reider @grahamdunning @steveburnett I still haven't read Timequake, which i heard was v good, but really enjoyed all the others (Cat's Cradle and Sirens of Titan stuck with me).
@t36s I was thinking about the Zoom F8n Pro, but (used) it's around 700 euros. There's the F6, too, which is around 500 new and also 32-bit float...and the preamps are supposed to be decent. Zoom's stuff is definitely more robust and pro-feeling than in the past, and my F8n Pro sounds great to my ears, noise-floor super low and the 32-bit float saved my recordings on a couple of occasions.
I have two of those and I'm selling one, but I understand if it's too pricey for you.
@t36s @funcgen are you looking at 4-channel recorders only?
