@Techaltar Affinity on Linux would be huge ๐Ÿ˜ฎ for me this is the last blocker to switch
(the links to the quoted news is useful btw ๐Ÿ‘ )
@Techaltar
Btw, the separation of lines for different modes will become more and more crucial since nowadays, every bike seems destined to become electric, thus more powerful and thus more dangerous
Cars and bikes don't go well together.
Neither do e-bikes and pedestrians.
@Techaltar Was it already dark ?
Something I realized quickly is that it is beneficial to be multimodal : I hate cars in cities but sometimes I must drive one, and it made me aware that at night, a bike rider in dark clothes without lights is easy to miss. Same goes for pedestrians, from the point of view of a cyclist or driver ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
So, to answer your question :
- raising awareness, possibly via mandatory training
- better infrastructures that clearly separates cars, bikes and pedestrians
@Techaltar would be curious to know her main complaints (no back button ? gesture navigation ?)
@Techaltar I just hilariously discovered that the copilot button has managed to sneak his way... in the friggin' toolbar of the swiftkey app ๐Ÿ˜‚

@Techaltar He's citing another journalist here but yeah that's the kind of statement that needs more than a few passing examples. Still, it may be a significant point : if the evolution of role models for men can be so drastic... it gives hope ^^

Also, the rabbit hole of podcasts as a means to navigate life, instead of figuring it out with friends and relationships is something that i can attest to (ironically, this is evident amongst many of my female friends)

@Techaltar excellent, thanks for sharing
this is wild : โ€œThere was a norm around sentimentality being a core part of masculinity in the 18th and 19th centuries,โ€ says Cohen. โ€œIn letter-writing manuals at the time, men were encouraged to be expressive about their feelings for their friends.โ€ Think about that: The ability to openly express affection was once a key indicator of masculinity. Nowadays, of course, manhood is measured by the opposite capacity โ€” strong, silent repression."
@wikipedia I'm not sure that rapidity is a relevant metric for an encyclopedia, especially concerning news.
@Techaltar excellent one :) (though the guy on the thumbnail can't really claim any of the wise moves mentioned in the video ^^)
