The Great Granny Dump

When granny got worse
But not ready for the hearse
We placed her in the home on the hill
Just like a hotel
Where she would be well
And we could just cover the bill.

No one had foreseen
The coming of COVID-19
A home for the frail
Turning into a jail
Because of a strict quarantine.

Bill 7 coerces patients from hospitals into LTC homes not of their choosing up to 150km away from their communities. If people don’t leave the hospital, they’re charged $400 per day. Speak up against this human rights violation! #RepealBill7

💥Heads Up! #SENIORS

#Ontario Conservative's are now swapping your original brand-name drugs with cheaper ‘biosimilar’ drugs.

The change to Ont. Drug Benefit plan will impact all seniors & people on social assistance despite concerns the switch could throw some patients off track.

"The cost-savings will create 'financial room' for the Ford govt to fund new drug therapies."

Every day, we’ve been giving boosters of #COVID19 vaccine and a #FluShot to patients, and encouraging them to #MaskUp when they gather with others. Bivalent boosters are available for 5-11y now, also. Please plan for a safe time over the holidays. Or January will be a disaster.

When I was a youngster, I remember my mother frantically scrounging together coins to pay for a visit by a small-town #Ontario doctor.
We kids were desperately sick, and she was exhausted & frightened enough to call him, despite the cost.
So, it is unsettling to hear rumblings that these govt's are also banking on widespread illness, death & healthcare chaos to make us think Canada's public healthcare has failed and that we would receive better care if we paid.
