I have not seen any commitment on the part of WordPress.org to continue development of their version of ACF. In the official announcement, Matt writes, "...if any developers want to get involved in maintaining and improving it, please get in touch.", and I'd be surprised if there were many takers. For that reason, I've switched all of my sites using ACF over to the WPEngine version. I am hopeful that this will allow continued use of ACF without disruption. #WordPress #WPEngine #ACF
@douglevin I know you're not looking for advice but...ChromeOS. Just sayin'.
@krishnadraws Take a look at Knownhost.com. I recently moved a large number of WP sites over to them and have been very happy. If your current site uses cPanel or Plesk, they will migrate everything at no charge.
@rscottjones In WordPress, the ID increments when anything is added to the database. So, posts, pages, users, images, orders, etc. The number can grow pretty fast.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

@sertaptap Here are instructions, plus two alternate methods that don't involve futzing around in the database. I prefer method #1. https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-change-your-wordpress-username/

@Brian_Mahoney There are plugins that will create static HTML content from WordPress but I've not used any of them.

@Brian_Mahoney Backup isn't a native WordPress function, so you'll need to install a plugin. I use UpdraftPlus, which allows you to create scheduled backups on a remote server (which is what you want to do). Both Google Drive and Amazon S3 can be used in the free version.

Since these are just files in remote storage, you can access them outside of WP (outside of your hosting too, for that matter). However, the files themselves are not really useful outside of a WP installation.

@alexisbushnell I had the same thing happen recently and it was due to an update in the Analytify plugin (which they have since fixed). Check the error_log file in the root directory of your WordPress install for clues.
@Brian_Mahoney I just moved to knownhost.com and have been quite happy with them.
