Hi everyone! Been a minute since last post (we're very sorry) but we've been hard at work wtih Grid and balancing the joys of adulthood in 2025 (🥲 ).
BUT we've released a new update for Grid! Main changes are some big bug fixes with users appearing offline (warning: the app will force you to relogin after updated) and faster initial app and map loading to make it a smoother experience. Some new features as well like quick zoom out, delete group history & tapping avatars to view profiles.
To the Privacy Community: We need your help to help make Grid an effective tool!
1) Test it in real conditions and tell us where it fails.
2) Audit us. Grid isn’t built for the lowest common denominator but for security and privacy. Check our github out, help us identify where the gaps are so we can close them.
3) Ideas for improving self‑hosting security, map privacy, or making it usable on phones without Google services. We SO welcome contributions!

@seathebeauty Hi Aaron, sorry to hear you're having issues! Are you both showing offline to ea other? What kind of android device are you using? What iOS device is your friend using? For android, have you ensured battery optimization is off? Has closing the app and reopening resolved the issue? Or logging off and logging back in? If you're in a group w/each other, ensure you dont have conflicting sharing windows.
If none of the above resolves it, let us know so we can keep troubleshooting
