New year, new Prism!

It’s release time! We’re happy to announce #Lix 2.94 “Açaí na tigela” is now available.

With this release, you’re getting bug fixes, performance tweaks and quality of life improvements, as well as our first steps towards Cap’n’proto based RPC.

An important note: Flakes turn even colder, as our implementation of them enters the freeze period.

Froyo: A tasteful way to organize your Nix code

This is a tidied up version of some work I did at the beginning of the year, based around the idea of bringing a flake-parts-like experience to stable Nix code. It has a pretty basic API right now, but I’ve had a lot of fun playing around with the possibilities - even in flakes! Feel free to give any feedback or ask questions 🙂 How do I use it? A minimal use case would probably look something like this let inputs = { nixpkgs = <nixpkgs>; froyo = builtins.fetchTarball ...

Yet Another White Guy demanding 'no politics' from #FOSS, when really they prolly just don't want their favewet #Linux distwo (#NixOS, in this case) two be gay :'(

Fucking hell - even if you're homophobic, who cares and who are you to determine what a FOSS project should or shouldn't do/be? It's FOSS lol, let the people who run the project decide what their project 'sides on' or entails, and YOU decide what you wanna use or better, fork it and run your own garbage project.

There's no excuse for this type of shit - shit's not commercial or proprietary, son. The power is in your useless hands.

Alright #nix peoples. What distro of nix do you use? Feel free to give reasoning in the replies. Or reasoning NOT if those exist. I'm... kinda unhappy with lix right now so I'm debating what to do
