The Trump administration is setting a new norm, that wearing masks while being an armed law enforcer is normal.

Criminals will take advantage of this. It is nothing new that hardcore criminals disguise as police, but what is new is, this disguise can now be worn while being masked, and it will not look out of the ordinary.

Criminals will be able to abduct anybody anywhere while wearing police gear, guns, AND masks, and no one will be able to know if they are real or fake.

@randahl Members of the USA’s astonishing number of police-type agencies *also* can not readily know whether they’re facing criminals, vigilantes, terrorists, paramilitary groups, or even—perhaps—some government forces which failed to inform “partner” agencies of their intentions.

The police used to be that friendly, helpful person that you could ask anything if you needed help. A kind of social worker in the neighbourhood.
Nowadays when I see police I smell trouble and make a curve as wide as possible around that type of scum.

@LillyHerself in Denmark there is even a large written unique I'd number on each police officer, like L1243.

It is your guarantee that you can file a complaint if necessary.

A few officers in Copenhagen removed the numbers in a situation of unrest, but then the police management decided to glue the numbers onto their gear.

Fortunately, this gluing has not been necessary elsewhere.

i wrote some time ago that impersonating ICE is perfect cover for rapists (single and in gangs); child abduction, rape and trafficking; violent retribution against people someone feels has slighted them (not unlike Trump's own motives); and pretty much any other crime you can think of.

@randahl I went to the park yesterday with my daughter and grandson. There were 4 police cars parked in the parking lot, by the only exit. We just left. Not even the parks are safe.

@Susibryant Wild. Here in Vejle, the police is a rare sight. Maybe once a month I bump into them or hear their sirens.

Luckily, they are quick to get here, when they are needed.

None of these idiots have any idea what they're doing, and I doubt evasion or obstruction would be much of a problem. I cannot express it any other way aside from, "fuck these sad, wannabe nazis who are dumb enough to put themselves in harm's way to fight and expel their peaceful neighbors. @randahl this brings up a point. Among the gestapo I'm sure everyone has noticed a lot of meal-team-six types. Focus on them. Harass them. Block them. They're out of shape, are essentially fish out of water, and their more capable jackbooted colleagues will need to break off from whatever they're doing to assist. Hit them where they're weakest.

Edit: Of course I think it’s ridiculous to deport anyone wearing a mask. I still think the ICE personnel should not be permitted to wear gaiters, or whatever those things are called.
