I put together a cartogram visualization of the municipal property tax base in Massachusetts.

This story is a good illustration of the double standards for transit safety vs. roadway safety. Nobody's been hurt there, but the T is preemptively closing this station entrance; meanwhile, blatantly unsafe MassDOT/DCR infrastructure on adjacent roadways has killed two pedestrians in the past year – and nobody's talking about closing those roads until we can fix them.

On the plus side, I might get $50 back in a state income tax surplus check
