Does anyone in or around Hamburg have a spare M.2 mainboard screw? Or an idea where I could get one? (I have spacers!)

I know it's a bit of a stretch, but Amazon and Deutsche Post are now at > 1 week delivery time. That's.. a bit long.

Opened Chrome for the last time today!

(It's where my Meta and Google containers live. Well, used to.)

Typographers make the prettiest websites, by far and large. For a slow Saturday, here's a super interesting essay about GORTON, an almost ubiqutous font that you will recognise. The website has it all: it is fun to read, interactive and of course well-set:
https://aresluna.org/the-hardest-working-font-in-manhattan/

In case you want to skip the reading bit, here's some typographers offering their versions of the font on just-as-fun websites:

Edit:
The author's actually on Mastodon! @mwichary

A story of a 150-year-old font you have never heard of – and one you probably saw earlier today.

That's a first — I think the hardware of my four year old MSI 27" screen is giving up. It's been sitting on a desk for most of its life and today from one moment to the next it just.. had extra lines on it.

Tried different frame rates, inputs and sources. Does any of you with an affinity for hardware know if this is fixable, or straight to the bin? (Also, what actually happened there? :D)

Bonus: The second line from the top is white with grey dots flickering/moving inside

eBay has plenty of similar screens with different defects, so if it's a simple replacement/soldering job, that might even be possible

We went to an underground dub soundsystem rave for new year's.

Except we almost didn't. Because we couldn't find the entrance — until we went around the factory building a second time, heard the windows shake and *knew* there had to be a door somewhere.

Drinks were cheap, people were nice. Holy shit, I have never in my life heard bass this loud. Clothing was vibrating on my skin, in different frequencies.

For the headlining act, they coupled two soundsystems to a .. bigger soundsystem. So you could A/B the same songs. Hibration has nicer mids, Step-by-Step has a lot more low-end. And I mean a lot. If you're ever at Hamburg's 48h Wilhemsburg and wondering which to choose. :P

Everything feels so peaceful and quiet now.

I should post more commission work and general Furry stuff here! Have a picture that I-Psilone did for me last year!
More of a Death Stranding kind of vibe on Friday. Did find a lot of host plants, and not a single parasite. Guess I'll try again in August!

going up mountains in 4°C freezing rain to find samples

this does feel 100% like a mmorpg fetch quest. there are even (gps) quest markers!
