It's bizarre for a company to say "Congratulations" to you when they offer you a job. You're giving up a portion of your life (not renewable) for the employer's money (renewable). Society is weird!

If you needed help moving and the help would require the entire weekend and you asked a friend for help and then you made them go through a lengthy process to be deemed worthy enough to help you and then you decided to let them help you and you told them “congratulations, you get to help me” that would not go over so well with the friend. Then extrapolate that scenario over years where you are constantly being told that they are helping you out and not the reverse. That you are the lucky one to have the job. Getting a job and helping someone to profit off your labor is not winning the lottery for you. What a farce we have created and accepted in our society.
