Today is the birth anniversary of Malcolm X, an Afro-American revolutionary, Muslim Minister and human rights activist, who was a prominent figure during the civil rights movement until his assassination in 1965. He was a vocal advocate for Black empowerment.
Oh yeah, the radio at work earlier stopped mid-song to blast out the emergency broadcast system noise, but fail to follow-up with the automated voice explaining the reasoning or that it was a test & the DJ didn't say shit about it, just went back to the song where we would have been like nothing happened so for like 15 minutes today I was vaguely worried I was gonna suddenly die

One of the things Americans fail to understand, because nobody tells them and politicians don't want them to know, is that the government can spend $10k on someone or something now (e.g., UBI, healthcare) and save itself hundreds of thousands in the future -- or even "profit" in the sense of higher productivity and tax revenues.
Instead, we live in a country that insists on spending $150 million on cops to prevent $104,000 in lost subway fares.
