"And some people say 'These people, they're not even trying to be British. They come here, they bring their own culture, their food, speak their own language, and try to take over the whole bloody place.'

Dunno. Sounds pretty British to me."

🚨AN ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE STAT: The amount that's already been spent on just two weeks of the Iran War is more than the government estimate of the cost of a paid family/medical leave program covering every single private-sector worker in America.

The Aid Cuts Before The Iran Missile Strikes

The Pentagon has blown through $24 billion bombing Iran so far. Here’s what that money could have been spent on instead.

@mufid This is not so much about confrontation as clearly defining borders. Sometimes it will result in a conflict and some of those times with undesirable outcomes for you. But sometimes people are act cruel or humiliating without thinking much. Just pointing out that they’re pushing against your borders might be enough for them to stop. Other times showing that you’re willing to defend the border would do the trick. These are relatively cheap for you but might cover a significant fraction of the cases.

@galtzo

@pointlessone @galtzo if “fuck it we ball” mentality can be applied in today’s economy. I am looking at those layoff numbers, wars, incompetent leaders, etc. So, i am little bit afraid of not having income if i pursuing my sanity (“fuck it we ball”, I don’t allow you to bully me, either you change your behavior or I leave).

Thanks again for giving suggestion. I really appreciate it!

@pointlessone @galtzo thanks this is very helpful. Yeah I am a peacetime leader. Mostly i avoid unnecessary conflict but some guys/gals tend to show power instead of actually contributing to solve problems / tasks. But seems like i will exercise your suggestion. “Fuck it we ball” no money earned in toxic environment; because it actually cost psychiatric/psychologist for me to recover from toxic environment. Already happened to me in the past, but i am thinking (cont)

@mufid You absolutely can but unfortunately too many people take others’ need for money as an opportunity to exercise their cruelty relatively free of consequences.

The more money you have, the less the need. And with that the less is your capacity for putting up with others’ cruelty. If you don't need the money you can walk away at the first sign of inconvenience. And they know it so wouldn't even try.

This certainly sucks but this can be “exploited”.

The obvious way is to put yourself in a position where you can walk away: get the level of income that covers your basic needs and then it will get easier.

The second is to always act as if you can walk away. If you can act (i.e. play) you can do it that way. Or you can try shifting your mentality towards just in general taking less crap from others, “know your worth”, “respect yourself” and so on. This also might require you actually walking away once in a while, which might be really hard.

In any case, the less tolerance for humiliation you have, the less of it you’ll experience. For most people this tolerance is their natural limit, sometimes even higher than that. But if you're being mindful of it you can artificially lower it.
