@dangillmor #lemmy has filled the void for me. Federated, similarly to Mastodon, and a huge destination for folks leaving Reddit. Reminds me of the internet of old!
Dan GillmorReddit had become so valuable to me for several topic-specific subreddits that it's hard to leave.
But the Musk-like treatment of the people who helped make the site popular -- amplified by the CEO's deceit and arrogance -- is a reminder that highly centralized conversations are vulnerable.
So I'm disconnecting from Reddit and seeking alternatives, hoping that decentralization will win in the end.
