I make things sometimes

Email addresses are very simple, and you will score highly in this quiz.

Everyone knows what an email address is, right?

I scored 12/21 on https://e-mail.wtf and all I got was this lousy text to share on social media.

so true
throwback to the time when I wrote a custom resonance test for my 3D printer but forgot to end it so I almost broke my motor by trying to test resonance at 17,000 Hz

@io_err thank you for the great music! I did get some rest since then, but now I have a different problem: my neck still hurts from all the involuntary headbang I was doing every time I walked past the Milliways Dome lololol

worth it though, the music coming from the Dome was genuinely one of the highlights of camp for me hehe

I had so much fun writing (and delivering!) @ChaosPost at #WHY2025, and it always warms my heart to see people's reactions to the postcards they receive (especially if I'm the one who wrote it)

I took a few postcards home to deliver to my friends who couldn't make it to WHY2025. The fun still continues

happy birthday gnome!! congrats on 28 years of being the most polished desktop environment*

@gnome

*i actually haven't tried enough DEs to be confident in that but of all the ones I've tried gnome is definitely the most polished

#why2025 concluded. Pretty good for my first camping experience. Highlights:

- Putting up a decent tent with someone else's assistance
- Getting to know a good chunk of Milliways/Freeside crew
- Repeatedly experiencing really good food, including at unreasonable hours
- Helping out with the Jungle dome construction, spontaneously holding a DJ set there (despite knowing pretty much nothing about it), then receiving a postcard thanking all DJs there for their great taste in music
- Obtaining a copy of Phrack magazine/merch
- Picking up merch for a fellow hackerspace attendant
- Using DECTs for spontaneous communication, then learning radios are the new shiny thing
- Discovering the arcade and retro museum
- Meeting some very out there people that made me question whether I'm awake or dreaming
- Watching the sunrise and local wildlife trying to steal our food

Things I want to improve next time:

- Bring a tarp/reflective surface to keep the heat out of the tent
- Bring LED strings/strips/badges to properly see at night
- Avoid bringing "toys" I will probably not use and instead visit more villages that have "toys" I want to play with
- Improve the packing list
- Stay for a few days longer to help out with setup/teardown
- Help out with cooking
- Do this DJing thing again, it was great fun :)

#WHY2025 was my first hacker camp ever and I **loved** it - can’t wait for the next one already! cheers to everyone involved and attending

One last time then... this saturday we will have a sweatshop at RevSpace to put together the welcome package. If you want to come and help us out, then please register here: https://wiki.why2025.org/Welcome_Package_Sweatshop_26_july_2025

We have estimated that this workshop about 4.000 minutes of work... 67 hours. #why2025
