Literally stuck in an open file in vim because I'm editing the file in a remote shell from Firefox and I can't hit escape without it being intercepted by the Vimum extension.

@sebhoss Ctrl-[ is still the escape sequence and also interpreted the same by Vimium. Ctrl-C instead worked to exit insert mode.
@sanrag For sailing the high seas. 😛 Old NAS was QNAP, which is a nightmare in both software and hardware.
My new NAS has much louder disks than the old NAS but in practice I have noticed a lot less seeking noise from the disks. ZFS caching seems to be the key factor. I'm a ZFS convert.
Watching the progress of US elections the last few weeks makes me much more hopeful for the rest of the world including The Netherlands. Good or bad, whatever happens in the US has an effect across the whole world.

@tusharxoxoxo UPI solved a massive problem for Indians living in India, but could be a lot more friendly to NRIs and tourists.
@tusharxoxoxo I learned that the hard way. My experience with Cheq UPI was subpar, it doesn't work for P2P payments (due to RBI restrictions) which is what autowallahs/taxis etc. use. Had to call up a friend to pay for an auto ride when I only had a Rs 500 note to pay with and the auto wallah had no change.

@nemo I think it's just Google and Apple being lazy. Meteoblue is my go-to for weather info and they do integrate with IMD data.
