You probably know me as Chris Lamothe or @banffchris, systems director for SkiBig3 in Banff National Park. Outdoors, dev, local.

Friday afternoon, set up new desktop.

Monday afternoon, pour 250ml of water on my laptop.

Fortunate or unfortunate?

@meejah no complaints with Airalo, have used them in several countries successfully, rates are good. One tip: get a europe wide one or you'll have to switch esim when you cross borders, which can be a hassle.
Hearing aids before it fifty, but probably should have gotten them five years ago. Mainly so my other half can talk to me from another room and we can keep the volume on the tv low enough to not annoy the lodger in our basement.
Looking at a 64gb mac mini as a desktop companion and estimated ship days are two months out. Guess I'll just not buy it?

I can probably squeeze three cars in my driveway, literally on Sulphur mountain. Ten bucks a pop? Seriously, just take the bus, it’s easier.

@ghorwood really exciting, never get tired of that album.
What a time to be a developer.
Immigrants are what Alberta is made of. My Scottish great grandparents on my father’s mother side started the Anglican Church in innisfsil, my polish/Ukrainian great grandparents on my mother’s side farmed in what is now Sherwood Park. The kids on both side went on to be nurses, chefs, teachers, luthiers and more.
@mkbhd we were at the Canadian equivalent of a state fair and they had a mini ski jump setup and my 11 yo kid tried and they immediately offered a free camp and coaching for a year on the spot, basically because he took instruction well and had basic athleticism. Before that I wondered the same thing.
But have you seen Predator in the original Klingon?
