Configuring Podman on #freebsd is a bit more than a simple 'pkg install', but not much. I found this video that explains the whole process in about 5 minutes.

I've installed #freebsd today as a trial to see if it can do everything I want. Installing KDE was surprisingly easy.

I need OpenJDK, VSCode and IntelliJ and they're all available to be installed via pkg.

So far I'm really impressed.

After my minimal time with #rust, I like to compare Rust and Java as frameworks vs libraries. With Java you write in whatever style you like (as with a library). With rust, there is one way to do it- the rust way (just like when using a framework).

Analogies aren’t my strong point, but you get the idea. 😀

My progress in learning #Rust can now continue.

Broke my PC yesterday so it wouldn’t boot. Fortunately everything was backed up so I was prepared for the worst.

After several hours with boot disk and powershell, I’m now an expert in fixing Windows boot issues :)

Make sure you have backups in case this happens to you.
