Illinois utility tries using electric school buses for bidirectional charging

School buses are usually parked when the grid is under its biggest strain.

@Edent I use the Pebblebee ones. I have no complaints about the trackers themselves but Google's find my network is not impressive. When I am not near the tags they do update but not very often. And when I am near the tags features that require connecting to them (making them beep) work maybe 10% of the time. Since announcing this program Google has really seemed to half-ass everything about it.
@mwichary I had to report someone for blocking the alley a while back. I used an abandoned vehicle request. It seemed to be the official way of reporting that, but they said it would take a few weeks and after a few days the car moved anyways.
@openbenches This is my new favorite bench I've uploaded. Long shot from my roomette on an Amtrak Superliner during a sun shower. The text detection worked surprisingly well from this distance. Just a few random characters added before/after.
@b0rk I should add that often these protocols don't do their own layer of acknowledgements because the IQ will already have been transmitted by the time we can correct a dropped packet. Also, in some situations the UDP IQ transfer is happening within the device so dropped packets are very unlikely.
@b0rk we use UDP with UHD as well as internal protocols to stream IQ (radio data) to software defined radios. Though other protocols like IIO get by with TCP so it isn't strictly necessary.
@MishaalRahman mine are finally coming tomorrow after over a year of waiting. Of course it's the day I leave for a trip though.

@jimsalter there is at least one algorithmic page. The # explore page which describes itself as "These are posts from across the social web that are gaining traction today. Newer posts with more boosts and favorites are ranked higher." It doesn't appear to take into account who is looking at it, just raw engagement.
@jimsalter I think a large part of it is people here realize there is no algorithm. Therefore boosting is required to help the proliferation of content and favoriting is just a signal to the poster.
