You missed the best feature addition of the updated Studio Display. It has an extra Thunderbolt port that is downstream and can daisy-chain an additional display. With the previous model you had to connect each display directly into the computer or into a separate dock. This is a very welcome addition for anyone who uses more than one display.
According to Apple's website, you can daisy-chain up to four.

@daringfireball @gruber You’re right about the keyboard, but that image with the on-screen keyboard reminded me of an Apple device. This is exactly how I feel every time I try to use the iPad on-screen keyboard or even worse, the landscape keyboard on an iPhone. They are both horrible UI/UX designs.
@atpfm You do not need to turn on Messages in iCloud for your messages to be backed up to iCloud. The only thing Messages in iCloud does is syncs deletions between devices. The regular backup also backs up your Messages. I restored my new iPhone 17 Pro Max from iCloud and I have years of messages loaded onto my new phone. No problem whatsoever. Messages in iCloud is turned off in my settings.
@siracusa @jeremyh John, even some people who usually buy a Pro wouldn’t miss those things. It has the best of the three cameras. The only downside that the majority of regular people will potentially miss is the battery life. I’m a Pro user but the argument you’re making as to why people will get the Pro instead of the Air is the opposite of your regular argument as to why you think people should buy cars instead of trucks. They won’t use those extra things 99% of the time.

@daringfireball @gruber I'm curious as to what color iPhone you will get this year without a black or black-adjacent option. I thought of your recent podcast conversation as soon as I saw the color options.
@daringfireball I can't speak to traditional marketing because I watch mostly ad-free streaming. However, I saw nonstop ads on TikTok for this movie for weeks. We were talking about it in our family chat this weekend. We didn't get a chance to see it on opening weekend, but we do plan to see it in theaters.
