Every now and then, it's ok to be proud of yourself (I hope).
The fact that we at Gluon, for so many years, are delivering high-quality, secure, free and opensource builds of JavaFX, for different OS'es, archs, providing 2 LTS trains, EA and other versions, as SDKs/jmods/maven artifacts,... is actually pretty amazing. See screenshot below from https://gluonhq.com/products/javafx

We have no devrel/marketing/sales, so I'll say it myself: great job, @gluonhq !

Happy reading, and have a lovely #Java weekend!

You'll probably get an error if you want to run a #Java 21 (or newer) application on a #RaspberryPi 3, Zero 2, or other type with an #Arm #Cortex #A53 processor. It's a known bug already fixed for the July update release. Until then, you can still run your app with extra command-line options as a workaround.

All info is available in a blog post on our site:

"We can't tax rich people because they might leave instead of paying higher taxes"

Bro they're not paying taxes NOW, so what the fuck's the difference?

Tax the rich. They'll either pay their fair share in tax, or they'll leave and stop being a drain on the system. Both options are a win.

Creative protest opportunity...

The Met Office is currently looking for people to suggest up to 5 names for storms.
It would be great if thousands all suggested the same 5 names (in alphabetical order as that's how storm names apoear):
BigOil, BP, Equinor, Exxon, Shell.

This is a creative, humorous and peaceful way to register our concerns and protest to a government body. Whilst the Met Office is unlikely to adopt any of the above 5 names, if they are suggested in huge numbers it may attract media coverage, as was the case with Boaty McBoatface but with more serious intent. This would be enough to make the point to the government and the wider British public, might even get some overseas attention.

Met Office page is: https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/forms/name-our-storms-call-for-names

Please share as widely as you can.

This book is focused on practical implementations of quantum computing algorithms—there’s no deep math or confusing theory. Using Strange, a Java-based quantum computer simulator, you’ll go hands-on with quantum computing’s core components including qubits and quantum gates.
