We can now die of The Cute.
I may have to try this...
I'm a fine artist who specializes in wildlife and the natural world. I've been to Mongolia 12 times, Kenya twice & Yellowstone NP. Plus trips to Europe.
I paint in oil & also use gouache & watercolor. I've drawn since I was a kid & still love to do that with pencil, pen & ink. I love using vintage dip pen nibs.
I live in Redwood Country on the north coast of California on a rural acre with my husband, our two "Lassie dogs" Hailey and Peregrin and 17+ yr. old Michiko the cat.
So, here's what I know about the Library Chicken. My son was at the Central Branch doing microfiche research up on the 9th floor.
At 5 pm, he said he sat up to take a break and a saw full grown, live chicken run, full speed, across his line of sight and launch itself (in that weird way chickens do when they try to fly) down the stairs.
Several minutes later, he says he saw two security guards running in the direction of the chicken.
By this point, I assume, the chicken had escaped and security was left with a mystery. That, or there's a chicken haunting the Central Branch tonight. Either are acceptable in my view, really.
I, and apparently loads of other people (judging from the boosts), would love to have the 411 on the Library Chicken.
If you, or someone you know, works at the Central Branch, do fill us in!

In Dorset, UK, archeologists have dug out a fossilized skull of the 12 meter long Pliosaurus — a true sea monster which lived 147,000,000 years ago.
Wishing you a happy and peaceful Thanksgiving Day.

I'd like to gain more followers, so I'm going to say a little about myself. Please boost if you could.
I'm a trans lesbian living in the UK with my lovely partner @Sammy_Pi_. I have a degree in #physics and #astronomy and worked in #archaeology for 6 years (in post-excavation, not as an archaeologist!). I now work in admin for the NHS but I have had a long standing ambition to get a job in #tech as many of my friends at university did, which is why I joined Mastodon on this instance.
I am also interested in history, other areas of science, #sci-fi (I've just got into #StarTrek ) #boardgaming, #videogaming (especially strategy and simulation), and music (especially classic, #prog and art rock). I am also an ardent #leftist, I believe human needs should come before profit.
So if you like to talk about any of these things please feel free to follow! I hope this post wasn't too long!
