Just a teacher, husband, and dad (not necessarily in that order. Enjoy cooking, eating, and photo/video.

I've had the idea for a weird kind of Twitter client for years. With Mastodon being all open, I've decided to do the experiment:

What if your Timeline looked like iMessage. A normal timeline confuses me to no end because everything is out of context.

My experiment, Ebou, is a Mastodon client that looks like iMessage. Conversations are grouped by friends and sorted by recent postings.

It is super basic right now, but this already feels much more natural to me 😀

I will pay cold hard cash for a photograph of Donald Trump’s face when he’s informed that he’s being ordered to cut a six figure check to Hillary Clinton.

Twitter just suspended the account for Washington D.C.'s public transit system, maybe for posting the buses' real-time assassination coordinates

Twitter temporarily bans account for D.C.-area bus system without explanation

The social media app suspended the @metrobusinfo account on Tuesday for about six hours and gave Metro transit officials no explanation why.

My latest in Puck on #TikTok & a possible ban:

"It’s risky to build on someone else’s property. Ownership of our data, social graph, and financial relationships has great value. How many times do we have to lose our followers on a social network to realize they were never ours? Unless we have a way to reach them outside the walled garden, such as an email address, mobile number, or credit card number, then they belong to the garden, not to us. We’re just sharecroppers."

What happens to the creator economy if the world’s most important new social platform is banned in the United States? We may be about to find out.

I gave up 15 years on Twitter and 22,000 followers. I used my anniversary to invite others to follow me to Mastodon, and I pointed out that every tweet is a donation to Musk. We know what he is and what he's doing. He gave Michael Flynn his account back on the anniversary of the Jan. 6 insurrection.

I started my #Twitter exodus as a boycott against Musk. Now, I'm thrilled to be here. I miss a few things, but Mastodon is just built better. I feel like it makes me (and you) better, too.

When criticized for acting like a stenographer for a liar who backed a coup attempt and is trying to spin it away, effectively using one's position as a Reuters reporter to launder his manipulations, "my tweet merely reports what he said" is a bad defense. That's the criticism.

Reminder that journalists who would never consider working for the Murdoch family's Fox "News" -- because they have too much integrity to participate in its relentless poisoning of our civic life -- continue to pour their work into Elon Musk's Twitter.

Lol. Kristen found this post and claims it's "false" with no explanation of *what's* false. And now a bunch of people on Twitter are claiming that I am a "warmonger-oligarchy shill" which is pretty amazing given my history.

Twitter has become a site for idiots being idiots and nothing more.

Has anyone tried turning the House of Representatives off and then back on?
