Trying to cut down unintentional phone usage. I tend to open some apps on my phone reflexively (mail, Reddit, Mastodon) and doom scroll without even realising what I am doing.

Found this app (iChooseTo on #android) that puts a delay in app launch. Now all my apps have a 10 seconds waiting period where I get to think, do I really need to use this app right now?

It's been working great!

I have been using @obsidian for 2 years now, but never used any of its community plugins. Big mistake.

I didn't realize how much you could customise obsidian with plugins. I am trying to create a #digitalGarden and the plugins are making things so much easier!

I have been publishing one blogpost on every even-date for the last three months. I was hoping by now it would become "easier" to write, but nope. It still takes 3 hours to write a 500 word post

Found some good advice on https://writinghabit.com/

My single takeaway from this article:

Don't write AND edit at the same time. Split them up. Write without the pressure of publishing and then edit separately. Have clear distinction between the two.

Cool article regarding how people are trying to create AI products that just don't work.

While the author was nice enough to not use spammy tools, someone else will. And then we will have spammers out there flooding these shitty blogposts on the web to earn back 25$ per post.

There are two ways to see a bubble: either you study the numbers, or you find something that just doesn't feel right.

While trying to decide which Javascript #framework to use, I found https://component-party.dev/ helpful.

You can compare different features side by side of each framework and choose the one that feels more readable.

I found out about #Svelte from that website. It looked neat but I am suspicious about anything new in the #JavaScript world.

I found this interesting: "How to be more concise"

Two key ideas I could relate the most with:

1) Concise does not mean short: It's not the length of the text but the information density that matters.

2) Avoid explaining events chronologically: I am guilty of explaining chronologically. I should take the burden of "choosing" what to explain instead of opting to explain "everything" in order.

Tried creating a small react app. The last time I played with this tech was five years ago.

Things have changed so much. pnpm instead of npn, vite instead of create-react-app, next.js and etc.

Good to see react and nodejs are still around.

It seems like I have been living under a rock. How is it that I have been using #NeoVim for 3 years now and it's only today I am hearing about distribution like @AstroNvim or #KickStart?

I must upgrade my configs ASAP.

Just finished the book. Took me almost 3 months. Lots of ideas to unpack. Answered a lot of questions I had regarding "Generalists vs Specialists".

10/10 Highly recommended for everyone. No matter what field you work in, you will benefit by having more range.
