For several months, I regulated the temperature in my office using 2 simple automations: turn the radiator pump on/off.
There is a 'better' way: using #genericthermostat and #scheduler components:
1. Configure a Generic thermostat in your configuration.yaml (https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/generic_thermostat/)
(you need one temperature sensor and one switch)
OMG Consent-O-Matic – the browser extension that will fill out your cookie consent forms – works like a charm! It's sad that you can't comfortably use the web without it (and ad-blockers), but it is what it is.
Spent the afternoon with #homeassistant creating a binary sensor that figures out if electricity price is among the N cheapest hours during the day, and if so, raise the temperature of a thermostat - obviously decreasing it when the price goes high again.
