And I like that Menu Icons now are hidden by default again on #macOS - Quite a lot of concessions towards liquid glass being the wrong move last year. Takes courage to take so many steps back, literally. I'm appreciating that. Even if they present it as improvements rather than "undo" - that's just what one has to do for marketing. #WWDC2026

Cool AI experience this morning: I had to turn photo of a print-out with a bunch of appointments into calendar entries. Asked ChatGPT to turn it into an ICS file. Worked beautifully.

Oh, sweet Jesus, iOS mail now defaults to pasting using the style of the source you copied. Is there no mercy from this endless fucking scourge? It’s the dumbest most awful possible default I can imagine. Why why why!!!!

It also doesn’t seem to have a “paste and just use the style in the destination document”, and I’m not going to piss about with non semantic style fiddling on a sodding touch screen.

The Breathing Light

This was one of the details that made me feel drawn to the platform ever since I first saw it in a 12" PowerBook in the early 2000s. Not only the pulsing, but also the fact that at some point the light disappeared behind the aluminum once it wasn’t needed anymore – only there when it had to indicate something. This was just beautiful. I had now idea that it also synced between devices:
