can't blame francophones either, it's just intrinsically hard to say my last name correctly if you're not raised speaking german and especially if you're raised speaking french

living in france for a while and interacting with officials and such has given me some perspective on the ambient feeling of alienation caused by no one around you being able to pronounce your name correctly. i essentially have three last names now depending on where i am and how people choose to pronounce it.
