State Based Model Targets are now in beta within Vuforia Engine. Those allows you to track your target during assembly /disassembly, maintaining robust tracking no matter how much aspect changes during the process.

Over the last few years, I've printed and assembled multiple #dinosaurs skeletons. A velociraptor, a psittacosaurus and recently, a microraptor. They now sit behind me. But most importantly, they are part of an #augmentedreality project I'm pushing little by little, where those skeletons are augmented with their scientifically accurate representation, in the flesh.

A little follow-up on my ZibraAI + Vuforia experiment, this time on a full size car.

Simulation is real-time, and while it’s definitely not as accurate as real CFD, this is definitely incredibly cool 😎#ar #objecttracking #vuforia

Quick intro for the new comers!
I'm a French engineer turned AR/VR developer. After a PhD in laser physics and metrology, dropped academia to join a startup doing VR projects for industry. Later on, I joined PTC/Vuforia to focus on Augmented Reality applications for the industry. Since then, I've had multiple roles and now focus on the Digital Thread applications, where we feed templatized AR experiences with data coming from industrial systems like PLM, MES and connected assets (IIOT).

Attached: 1 video Simulated airflow in #AR around dynamic 3D objects, tracked in realtime. This demo leverages #vuforia Model Target and Image Target, combined. Model Target allows a library of 3D models to be recognized from any angle. Using a simple collider matching the geometry, particles can react to the obstacle in realtime. The objective was to make physics concepts fun, interactive and tangible.

After 2 years of occasional experiments with realtime fluid sim in AR, I've stumbled upon
ZibraAI
which is so much better than anything else I tried. Finally some realistic volumetric flow sim than run on mobile.
Combined with
Vuforia' Model Target, it's incredibly compelling.
