You can tell how Star Trek: The Next Generation is set in a utopian future because every work meeting wraps up in at most four minutes with a decision about what the group is going to do, why they're doing it, who's in charge of doing it and who's supporting them in what ways, clearly communicated to all participants.
@stux I honestly can't believe the number of Companies & CEOs on Twitter who spend most of their time calling people names, it's unbelievable.
@GreatBigTable @Duppifox @Gargron thanks for confirming what the Patreon covers; I had tooted @Gargron but he's got a lot on his plate right now. I've transferred what I was paying for my access on the m.tech instance over since I'm here full time now, and @[email protected] has had to shut the instance down.

Another #MastodonTip for people of the #TwitterMigration (other than using camel case for hashtags) is that Mastodon instances are not run by corporations with thousands of employees. Usually it is just a handful of volunteers and an instance owner or two.

A huge influx of users, like this, all at once is a lot to handle. Stuff may break or slow down for a bit.

It'll be okay. Things will level out & it will all work again. The same thing happened in back in April.

Be calm. Carry on.

@aral thanks !

Make politics private again

Before social media, I couldn't tell you what narrow political box to put most of my friends or coworkers. I might have had a hunch as to whether someone leaned left or right, but it was usually just that, a hunch, and more importantly, virtually never relevant to our relationship. That doesn't mean we couldn't occasionally have discus...

@leo sell the Title to Elon, then redistribute some of the funds to Fediverse servers offering access for free?

Really looking forward to the inevitable #twittermigration to the #fediverse . The platform has become poison regardless of who you follow.

Personally, for me it all went wrong with the RT function, so people didn't actually have to read what they were reposting before posting into the Universe....
