Level 10 Computer Mage

In the past, I ran some small communities and reverse-engineered things. These days, I mostly make weird music and complain about electronics.

One math YouTuber (Lee Creighton) just challenged another math YouTuber (citytutoringmath) to a competition.

I hope this happens because it would be really funny.

I've never seen a PDF signature done properly in the wild, and every time I get my hopes up, something is always wrong.

To be fair, I've heard that PDFs aren't meant to support multiple signatures, but it can still certainly be done.

I tried logging into X (Twitter) and it seems that I'm now locked out of my account because of this flow they added.

I completed it in Firefox, and it still won't let me get past this screen for some reason.

I tried it in Chrome, but it's impossible because the form I need to unlock my account is blocked because my account is locked. 😵‍💫

Did they even test this before rolling it out?

Someone had a customized MiniDisc player made that exposes the drive / cartridge. 🤤

CA drama update:
Cloudflare has confirmed that they didn't authorize the certificate. They're pissed, they've reached out to everyone involved, they launched an investigation, and they're to publish a blog post about it.
Heads will roll. I have my popcorn ready.

MiniDisc gives me the same vibes. I can be in the middle of the woods in the rain with the smell of petrichor in my nostrils, open my walkman, and slide in my MDW80T disc with a satisfying thunk. The disc spins up, and a moment later, it's playing music. I can sit on a log, close my eyes, and listen to it. I can adjust the volume with tactile physical buttons as it carries on.

There will come a day when all of my MD equipment breaks. I don't look forward to that day.

There is something immensely satisfying about pressing a physical button, opening the optical drive on my computer, inserting a Blu-ray or CD, pushing the hard plastic tray back in, and watching a movie or listening through an album.

It's tactile. It's intentional. The Internet didn't feed me this content — it's a precious physical artifact that I am choosing to immerse myself in, and my computer setup happens to be the medium.

I found a background track that I made for a YouTube channel that I never launched.
