Many years ago I used the gem httparty - when you install it it puts out a message saying if you use the gem you must party hard

@dekkzz78 I recommend people who want windows machines to get oldish thinkpads with 16GB+ RAM from ebay. Those old corporate machines a lovely and much nicer than the cheap consumer stuff.

I agree with you, I just think the alternatives aren't that good either and I lack the energy to jump and spend weeks learning how to do stuff that's muscle memory. Apple have abandoned the folks who popularised them originally in pursuit of thin nonsense with no peripheral support.

Remembering previous deletes/yanks

Say you delete a paragraph with the command d} and you intend to paste that paragraph into another file. So you edit the other file with :e other.txt and you scroll down to where you want to paste the original paragraph. But then you accidentally delete or yank some text. Now typing p simply pastes the text that you just deleted or yanked. Fortunately, Vim remembers previous deletes/yanks in the numbered registers. You can enter the command :reg to list all the registers. If the text you want is
