Since last night's spike 8,000-12,000 new accounts are being created every hour.
Yesterday, I estimated that Mastodon would have 8 million users by the end of the week. That might happen a lot sooner if this trend continues.

I've been looking at Power Stations. By that, I don't mean Battersea or Hinckley Point. I mean the battery backed boxes that can power mains kit when there is no mains electricity available.

It also illustrated the issue with assumptions. This device actually mentioned CPAP, indicating it would run one for 4 hours.
My initial test supported this, with the CPAP drawing 50W. As CPAPs do; when they are not under any load, they just run at top speed.
Add a hose, mask and breathing human being, and it was a different story. 12-25W during inhalation, negligible during exhalation. And suddenly that 4 hours expected usage becomes a useful 12-14 hours; longer than I ever sleep.
