When Republicans over 50 speak of getting rid of all immigrants, they think of Latino or African fruit-pickers and dream of replacing them with non-existing white farmers or, more likely, impoverished American Blacks. That is because they never bother to look at the directory of the local clinic where they go get their cholesterol checked. Currently, a little more than 1 in 4 medical doctors in the USA are immigrants.
