@chadisfaction @stux Paypal is in a much different class than Stripe, so I think it's probably less likely in 2024

Paypal used to have a lot of issues with scams and fraud, but they poured billions into fixing that. While they did this, the rest of their experience suffered.

Stripe came in and got popular being so much easier to work with than Paypal. But now Stripe is going through the same pains...

Someone like OpenPayments will now be coming in to take over where Stripe is failing, and in a couple years they'll have the same problem

Fox News is allegedly spreading rumor that Kamala wants to crank capital gains tax up to 40% or something which doesn't seem true and is crazy anyway, but the details here seem pretty reasonable. I've been suggesting a small tax on stock trades for a long time to curtail bad behavior.
