Sunset at Oxbow Bend, with Mount Moran in the distance. Grand Teton National Park, September 2016.
#Sunset #WaterWednesdayThis is another one where I like the framing, but my 2001 era digital camera (a Nikon CoolPix 880) just didn't have the sensor performance to do it justice.

#ThickTrunkTuesdayAlmost every time that I try adjusting photos to bring out certain colors, I end up reverting to the out-of-camera JPEG because Olympus is better at such things than I am. Sunset photos always push the sensor and built-in RAW processing a little too far, though, so this one does have some color processing to try to match the palette I remember. Right now I don't think it looks overcooked, but I may change my mind later.
Grinnell Peak at sunset, seen over Swiftcurrent Lake, from Many Glacier Hotel in Glacier National Park. September 2019.
#MountainMonday #SunsetThis photo is a little bit of a lie, in that this easily accessed part of the trail was actually quite busy, and I paused for this shot just long enough to let the people ahead of me disappear around the next bend.
Also FWIW the photo fails to capture the air (crisp, only slightly pine scented) and the exceptional springiness of the trail itself, which was almost like those fancy mats children's playgrounds have now. It was special.

#SilentSunday #Outdoors #Nature #HikingI mock, but when you look at the isolated core of the building this way the series of ledges does seem like a natural interaction with the site, much as a Prairie House spreads horizontally on a flat landscape.
