@rpmik @glennf @sixcolors It's on the (extremely long (like seriously long)) todo list!
@kowantures @stroughtonsmith Not really, to be honest. PowerPhotos purposefully builds on top of the Apple Photos library format, rather than seeking to be a replacement for it.
@rylon There's no one step solution for this, unfortunately. The best that can be done at the moment is to export as HEIC, delete the JPGs, then import the HEICs back in again. But that will lose some information such as album organization in the process.
@bpd Yes, PowerPhotos does just delete the photo without attempting to merge any metadata. The primary reason for this is because as a third party app, PowerPhotos doesn't have the same access to be able to modify photos as Photos itself does, so there is a bunch of stuff it wouldn't be able to merge, such as edits, faces, and a few other things.

PowerPhotos 3.2.1 has been released as a free update, with additions to the inspector for revealing photos in albums and viewing a photo's location in Apple Maps, a couple keyboard shortcut improvements, and a number of other bug fixes. Read the full details on our blog at the link below.

@danedeasy Yes, the search is based primarily on the photo content and not the metadata, so as long as the photos themselves haven't been edited, PowerPhotos will usually be able to pick them up.

You can run a search with the free download to see how it does, then if it looks good, purchasing a license will let you delete the extra duplicates. https://www.fatcatsoftware.com/powerphotos

I just release PowerPhotos 3.1.3 today, which is mostly bug fixes, but has two new minor features for working with your Photos libraries.

First, I added "Copy To" and "Move To" items to contextual menus as another option for copying/moving photos and albums between libraries.

I also added the ability for PowerPhotos to help automate upgrading your libraries after upgrading to a new version of macOS/Photos.

Hope folks find these additions useful, you can read more at https://www.fatcatsoftware.com/comments/powerphotos_313_copy_move_upgrade/
