@Typespecimens @ruderman @futurefonts Thank you! The Doubles & Loops came first and then the question was what should a Single look like. We ultimately decided that something narrower would harmonize better, probably because with wider shapes you’d have more whitespace that we had to sacrifice in our more complex glyphs – but width is definitely part of the endless potential additions you mentioned ;)
@ruderman goes both ways! 🤝

Farah Fayyad is a graphic designer and printmaker from Beirut, Lebanon. Classically trained in calligraphy, Farah strives to preserve the traditional structure and behaviour of the Arabic script while experimenting with tools and form.

Mălin Neamțu is an independent type and graphic designer originally from Bucharest, currently based in The Hague. He recently graduated from the @TypeMedia program with his experimental project Segmentor, a variable font breaking with many conventions, is designed to react to sound, bringing together his passion for music and type.
couldn’t pick the right glyph so did them all.

To finish the year, @ceci_dcd and I are releasing another experimental project called BM Neon. We tried to push the boundaries of what a variable COLRv1 font can be.

BM Neon comes as three variable fonts. Each font holds at its core a specific type of gradient: Linear, Radial and Sweep. These can be manipulated via axes. In browsers, the colours can even be changed! @Adobe & @Figma when will this be possible in software??

If interested, there is some more info about the project on our website.
