Being able to switch gears/contexts quickly between gaming and tinkering feels great. Feeling better about and more at home with this move every day.

Spent some time getting my Linux install set up to do some light dev work.

Having a very powerful PC that I can both play games on AND just do dev things I’m used to without having to jump through any weird hoops (scowls at Windows) is incredibly gratifying.

I like Windows just fine but my heart belongs to POSIX-compliant operating systems 😬

Leica’s #aurora photo bomb may just be the best picture I’ll ever take

Most people would be better off with a simple static site than Wordpress.

Static sites are faster, cheaper, and easier to edit. And because you own your content in plain text you can more easily switch site generator or host. You're can't be held hostage.

"Appreciate everything endlessly." A pit stop on a Seattle road trip at McDonald's in Centralia, WA sent Panic's @cabel down a deep and magical rabbit hole into the undiscovered life's work of a nearly-forgotten artist, bringing everyone at XOXO along for the ride. https://xoxofest.com/2024/videos/cabel-sasser/

“Don’t waste this. Keep everyone guessing. Make me proud.” When Panic co-founder Cabel Sasser spoke at our second festival in 2013, the Mac software company had just started venturing into games by funding the studio behind Firewatch, an indie blockbuster that launched Panic’s games publishing business and, eventually, the Playdate handheld console. See the artwork in this talk, and more, at Cabel’s new Wes Cook Archive.

Contemplating another instance migration HMMMMM

After some more time smoothing things over I've remembered why I chose to run my personal site on Glitch in the first place.

I'll write about it, soon! But for now I'll just say it's the ideal platform for what I want out of serving up a generated static site that I can easily edit and deploy from anywhere.

Feels like I need to bite the bullet soon and move my site off of Glitch and into a proper GitHub repo with GitHub Actions and host the static files _somewhere_.

But the current version of things works so well.

Lmao this was way too predictable. Looks like I timed my move to Linux perfectly.

#Windows #recall is apparently coming to ALL systems in 24H2 and is a hard dependency for Explorer to work lol. Good luck to all Windows users. https://youtu.be/G9FRadIkkE0?si=kWh9dTDLzEU60uuZ #Linux
