canned garlic! finally made my own!! seems like 1 head fits neatly into a half pint jar, minced.

its so expensive on the shelf compared to fresh bulbs. so i found a paper on acidifying garlic to a safe pH for botulism not to grow, which is the same pH level that boiling water canning measures against.

so i went ahead and chopped and soaked in acid solution overnight per the paper, then canned this garlic in an acid solution between 3 and 5% to keep things acidic enough to not do botulism during long term storage.

canning guides want me to pressure can things instead of messing with acidity. but i dont wanna spend money i dont have. on things i dont need. when i have all the other stuff to do task.
especially when all the locally available commercial canning has citric acid as preservative in it anyway, flavor adulteration be damned!! [and thats like, the only substantive argument i found against acidifying things to can at home, besides "people too stupid to understand" patronisation.]

university of idaho 2014 paper: acidification of garlic and herbs for consumer preparation of infused oils, i found it here: http://foodprotection.org/files/food-protection-trends/Jul-Aug-14-Abo.pdf

a microcosm of human fear and greed and what it can do to a landscape. #photography

inspired by mention: my partners doing garden planning research and stumbled on crime pays but botany doesnt's spiritually depraved and misery-inducing landscapes of north america.

got a photo that felt similar. miles of pavement. sparse grass, no trees for whole half mile squares of pavement, and a sky lit up from all angles even as the sun dims. this could be in any city or suburb, but this ones from seattle.

was staring down at this pizza in the car a few months back. now im trying to recapture just how red and yellow the light was that night.

it felt like a dream. like moving through oil slick and staring at the sun. i wasnt hungry, but the box smelt like trees and soil and i wanted to be surrounded by it. a hunger pang for biodiversity and forests of fruits and flowers all over public places.

the pizza was good. didnt agree with the pesto breadsticks choice of cheese.

well he WAS asleep

first post on the acc!

everyone deserves to be listened to, but there is only so much energy one has free to listen in a day.
if i want to listen more, i practice patience and thinking about how others might think in the context of their own lives. empathy, compassion, assuming ignorance instead of malice where possible.
if i want to be listened to more, i practice focusing the meaning of what i want to say into fewer words. compression, stillness, thinking before one speaks, taking a breath, pausing.

that said, punch nazis, download a car, and this accounts my main. im gonna post the odd journal bit like above, art ive made, and the occasional violence in said art marked as sensitive content/CW'd.
