Dear pencil manufacturers, please stop wrapping pencils in plastic. It’s unnecessary, wasteful, and makes them essentially unsharpenable. Stop it!

@upgrade listening to your talk about the Wallet icon and how you wish the wallet was the roundrect? Check out this icon from 2011 (Square Card Case).
I’ve wanted a widescreen “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (1966) for years now. I initially thought it wouldn’t be too difficult to do much of it using some sort of intelligent fill on either side since there’s so much solid color. Turns out matching the blur and grain of the original is fiendishly difficult. So instead I’m learning animation for fun on my new iPad Pro with Apple Pencil using ToonSquid. Fun! I’ll be surprised if I ever finish at the rate I’m going…
So this is what happens if you sign up for Facebook and configure all your privacy and sharing to be as restrictive as possible. I deleted my account years ago and only signed up because I’m going to be the PTA communications manager for the 24-25 school year. I guess the Edison PTA page will just have to manage itself.
Finally decided to do something about the websites that, inexplicably, prevent you from pasting. There are browser extensions that kinda work around it, but I wanted something that would work anywhere on my Mac. Keyboard Maestro for the win!
Fun fact: frame 18252 of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" has The Grinch in a green hat. It happens a few times.
If, like me, you never seem to remember your kid’s (or your own) library card, I suggest making a digital version. As an example, at the Alameda Free Library the bar code on the physical cards is encoded with codabar, but the readers can also read the more standard Code 128 encoding.
The screenshot is of the Apple Wallet pass I made using MakePass, but even using an image from a Code 128 online generator will work. Just make sure it’s not wider than the real card when displayed on your phone.
